MCC and life

Thursday, September 06, 2007

MCC has a way of changing my life every year… and that’s not the only thing common between the two events in two years in Cochin and hua-hin.

From when I walked 3 kms and ran 100 mts with cramps, almost fainted and pulled my team down from 4th to 8th slot!… to visiting the gym every now n then… running on marine drive… to cycling, running and mountain trekking while it was pouring cats n dogs… taking a moment to digest the breath taking view (when there was no breath left at the top of the mountain climb)… running on the beach… crossing the finish line and swimming into the pacific… opening the dance floor as usual… an all nighter with dinner, drinks and cute guy(s) ;) just a snapshot to remember.

Treasuring the catapult for being ‘the most sporty team’!

The best part of this MCC… mountain trek in the rains
The best part of every MCC… the way you feel when it is all over… wherever u finish, u always feel good :)

Almost Single

Wednesday, September 05, 2007

‘Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?’

‘That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,’ said the Cat.

‘I don’t much care where -,’ said Alice.

‘Then it doesn’t matter which way you go,’ said the Cat.

‘- so long as I get somewhere,’ Alice added as an explanation.

‘Oh, you’re sure to do that,’ said the Cat, ‘if you only walk long enough.’

Sinusoidal moods

Monday, August 13, 2007

I have been busy for just a couple of days in the past couple of weeks… I had work to do the other days but did them in between breaks! Am more n more disappointed and more n more de-motivated… there should be some way to get back on track.

But yeah, haven’t been wasting time as such… have been reading a lot… though very unstructured… have been on track with the reader… finished ‘It happened in India’ and have been reading a lot of other things that I actually got bored of reading sometime in between!

Finished a lot of to-do things at work… things that I have been postponing for weeks… small tasks and other tasks… no deadly deadlines in sight and it is actually boring for now.

Weekend was good… watched ‘Gandhi my father’, ‘Chak de’ and a play ‘Anything but love’. Chak de was very good, want to watch it again. Anything but love with Mandira Bedi was funny enough but a lil too long and she did a pretty good job in contrast to my expectations. Gandhi… was too serious a movie for a Friday evening.

Participating in MCC once again… don’t want to repeat last year… so have been at the gym as much as I can… but then haven’t been able to keep away from chocolates as much.

Rest of the time is spent planning trips that might never happen… I should give myself a break… didn’t I just come back from Goa? Jawz… where are u?

Salsa classes / bollywood dances… something beckons soon… and I am excited about it… can definitely make me smile when I am in the downward phase.

What’s next?

the unwritten week

Tuesday, August 07, 2007

Too many unwritten posts… lost during the taxi rides and the train journeys… and during the dinners and the conference calls.

A Wednesday…
a lotta people together… after a long time.
good music at Sports bar… as usual.
a drunken me… after a long time.

A Thursday…
colaba causeway… after a long time.
dinner conversations… as usual.
no hugs… after a long time.

A Friday…
a beautiful bmw… after a long time :)
the ‘reader’ all day… after a long time!
sat alone on marine drive, just to remember the days that got me there pretty often… after a long time.
shopped to feel good and still less than 500 bucks… after a long time!
watched a movie home alone and still felt good… after a long time.

A Saturday…
woke up in a grumpy mood, the weariness of the Friday evening all alone… as usual.
managed to get myself up and down in half a day… as usual!
felt good while I slept… as usual.

A Sunday…
woke up with a realization… after a long time!
watched a romantic flick and felt good… after a long time.
shopped to my heart’s content… as usual.
felt like someone deserved the chocolates… after a long time.
made another never ending attempt… as usual.
felt good while I slept… as usual.

A Monday…
work, conference calls, xls, long mails… as usual.
met a friend… after a long time.
blogged… after a long time.
feeling good while I sleep… as usual.

Birthday wishes

Tuesday, July 31, 2007

wishes do come true… in reality too :)

The flights… last minute bookings… and not so grand entries… damn, the boarding gates hadn’t even opened when we reached there!! ;-)

The acco… the damsel does good research… the dumbo rejects them all and trusts the taxi driver! Anyways except for the food, the place was good and the sea view from the balcony was beautiful.

The rains… tries to play a spoilsport… lil did it realize the bike ride and the coffee had just got better :)

The bike ride… always fun… and the childish thrill :)

The churches… the greenery… the sea… the fort… and some wishes… just snapshots of a not so relaxed vacation!

The brave one… and that’s me... but still too scared to try a few new things!

The roses… a lost one and a treasured one… and it is fast fading.

The trip… couldn’t ask for more… was gleefully happy… ignored the world… was happy to be lost… was happy to be the girl in my dream… was just happy to be happy :)

didn’t want it to end…

… jolted back to reality… I am a quarter century old!!!
