This was about to happen… should have expected… thought it wouldn’t be so bad… but it did hurt.

It was the end… lost a friend.

A weekday holiday

Wednesday, April 25, 2007

For once I feel like I have had more than 24 hours in a single day! It was not an official holiday but just had a lil more than half a day’s work to do… the floor is waiting for the Friday to arrive and I am waiting for it to end! The day that makes a difference to an I-banker’s year.

Lots of menial tasks @ work completed during the course of the day… but managed to get outta office by 6 pm with no plans and the evening to myself.

Clicked on tons of new blogs through links from those I read – added a good number to my reader.

I haven’t checked out the Class of 2008 blogs… but just have the ISB space on my reader and I like the fact that this batch has a common blog that we didn’t have.

I feel the need to pamper myself quite often :) Today, I gifted myself a music cd and I am in the process of falling in love with it.

Read the Outlook traveler April edition and wanted to go to every place mentioned on it! Read the newspaper inside out and watched a few overs of the Lankan innings and currently watching the Kiwis play.

Just when the head was going on a panic attack, dinner at the Classic + CCD to bring the smile back on. It makes a difference…

Continued my never ending attempt at Vikram Seth’s “A Suitable Boy”

Off sweets and icecreams (except for CCD)… until I have them again! (Would I ever be able to do this to chocolates… nah, don’t even consider!)

Forgot that I had to meet a friend who is in town…

And didn’t celebrate a birthday.

Mozart, Bach, Beatles and him

Tuesday, April 24, 2007

I am not a classical music lover… just pleasantly remembered them and Eric Segal sometime during the weekend :)

Camel Valley… there could have been greenery… there could have been waterfalls… there were just camel humps :)

Spicy waffles… mild beer… large vodka… lil did we know what could get us drunk!

The scandalised ol’ man who packed us those rusted necessities or is it the waiter who decided to ignore the woman who does drink and eat… who was thinking of me that night? ;-)

“She loved Mozart and Bach. The Beatles. And me.” And I am still wondering in which order?

Girl friends

Gatecrashers – that’s what we called ourselves in the beginning
Screamz – that’s what we changed our name to… the 8 of us! Who lived together for 4 years, fought a lot over tons of petty things, had an individual opinion about everything and everyone, gossiped late night on life’s important learnings, enjoyed the Rs 4 watery half maggi every night, cycled to the campus c’not place and gatecrashed at 11:01 pm into the Meera Bhawan, played truth or dare innumerable times, loved being half nude in those sweltering summers, looked forward to every oasis and apogee, appreciated beauty in groups :) and shared everything except underwear!

Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai and one nonexistent somewhere in the US – that’s how scattered we are today… someone remembers to pop in a mail once in a while and there is a flurry of replies in 2 days and the tide dies down. Some of us don’t reply for a year... some of us don’t call for a year… but we are always there!

These were the last gang of girls I hung out with… I can’t point out one person among the eight whom I am closer to than the others… but then there has been no-one like the screamz ever again and I am more than happy to have two of them in Mumbai soon :)

The Mumbai gang of girls is expanding in enthusiasm and I am looking forward to the girls’ day out of shopping, movies, drinks, gossips and late nighters!

And woman, I promise this would be priority as long as it is not thrown as a surprise to me :)

Class of 2007

It’s been a year since I graduated from b-school. I didn’t have a convocation ceremony when I completed my undergrad, so was too excited about the b-school convocation. I enjoyed the dress rehearsal and the photo shoot the previous day than the actual convo of 348 ppl walking up on stage to collect the dummy certificates!

Another class had their convocation today. A class which connected me to my Alma matter. There were a few I got to know during the application phase, a few I got to know during the academic phase, many I got to know during the placement phase… and when they finish and go in different directions, I feel a connection that’s getting broken :(

I do not know so many in the batch that’s coming in… I wouldn’t know so many in the batches yet to come… Still, I wish the connection remains… the link to the place which made a difference.

Self evaluation

Wednesday, April 04, 2007

Have been getting too many reminder mails from one Ms. KM to fill in the form… 2 weeks of incessant harassment which I choose to ignore. And then the boss of all beings decides to do his job to my disappointment and I have no excuse to the deadline today evening!

I wish someone gave it to me the way I want it… but I don’t choose to ask! And now in a few hours I need to fill in two pages of all I did in the past 11 months and relate it to the Customer - Process - People perspective! This is why I should have taken my b-school one pagers more seriously… SK, need your help to fill this damn Appraisal form… but then yeah, you are busy filling many pages of your life :)

The only good news is that I still haven’t found where this will matter… did hear from the ultimate source that the numbers have already been sent to the management… so I am not sure if anyone will ever read this… though I wish to believe otherwise!

Well, I still haven’t finished one page – but then have taken at least 5 breaks, browsed for some good songs to hear, read a few posts and now I am posting this and going back to filling that damm form! :(
