Weddings and my friends

Wednesday, March 28, 2007

A couple of months ago, I was receiving at least one wedding invitation per week!
These days my trips back home are determined by when my next friend is getting married!
The first question that any long lost friend I meet asks is “when are u getting married”!

My b-school batch which showed 25% married status a year ago would show 75% married status by now! Someone I know asked me “how come you are not part of the band?”… ppl, I was too young for my batch!

Both my close friends from my ex-workplace have got married in the past couple of months.

The only exception seems to be my wingies from my undergrad days… though two of the eight are married (one with kids) and another one is to tie the knot in the later half of the year, the rest of us seem to be too happy the way we are!
And when two single friends have a vela day to discuss the same, we define the ‘happy the way we are’ as:
The fear of needing to sleep with a stranger in an arranged marriage!
vs
The fear of staying single for the rest of the life!

Jawz… am waiting for your comments :)

Small things… Big difference

Feels good to have a reason
… to wake up with a smile
… to take time to choose what I wanna wear
… to be good
… to put on that nail enamel
… to work and have a free evening
… to be thankful to Mr. Bell
… to miss someone
… to sleep with a smile

I only wish I don’t have a multiple personality disorder!!

Saturday evening…

Sunday, March 25, 2007

…Just finished a bar of Cadburys
…Missing something that I can smell
…Home Alone 2 – Lost in New York on Star Movies
…wanna get out of Mumbai (unofficially) atleast on a one day trip
…was live on air today for a few secs – don’t know, that’s what they told me!
…black circles, hate them all irrespective of the color
…Every blog I open seems to have something on the Indian team’s performance in the world cup – every channel I tune to has the same – I don’t want to read any – I don’t want to hear or see any! It would get better…

actually Sunday morning… just looking forward to it!

Why men lie and women cry

Thursday, March 08, 2007

If Cha Bar or Tea center decide to do an IPO, it would be oversubscribed by ISEC employees than their own employees! During our last visit to Oxford cha bar, unfortunately the seats were all taken and we decided to loiter around some interesting books. The line caught my attention - "why women love men with small, tight bums?”

My instant reaction was to turn to the friend next to me and ask “Is this true”! I wish I could have captured the reaction on his face :) after some time he managed to say, “How would I know!”… good point.

So went to the only female friend around and asked her about it… she said “yeah, they say its true!”… there goes one more woman who doesn’t know it… hahaha, I don’t have to feel bad… but then she isn’t a representative sample ;-)

By now, the book had managed to capture everyone’s attention and we started gathering around to read some quotes and laugh out aloud, as usual as if we own the place :) soon!

“My wife said if I didn’t stop being so obsessed with Manchester United, she’d leave me. I’m really going to miss her”

“A man is twice as likely as a woman to be involved in a car accident while talking on a mobile phone”

“If a man is with his friends and not talking, it doesn’t mean they’ve had an argument; he’s just fire-gazing”

“For woman, it’s not size that matters, it’s frequency”

Men don’t get lost – they simply discover alternative destinations”

“Why can men only seem to do one thing at a time?” (one of my favorites)

Men don’t want to know what’s on television, they want to know what else is on television” (another one of my favorites)

“Women use silence to punish men. But men love silence”

“Why do men feel the need to be right about everything?”

… each of us had our own share of agreements and disagreements and just for the amount of laughter it brought out of us, the book has been bought and added to ISEC library by urs truly for shared joy!

And this post is for the innumerable friends of mine who have been complaining for quite some time that my posts are becoming simran-ish… and for Jawz who said these days she can understand sim’s blog more than mine!!

Good afternoon!

Tuesday, March 06, 2007

That’s the state I am in today… well, that’s what happens when I sleep at 2 and wake up at 6 without an alarm! Still, life is good and hence work is good and any better would be a sin :)

That’s the way I am

Monday, March 05, 2007

I just can’t keep my mouth shut! Why do I always go out looking for trouble? Yeah I am right, when something good happens, there is always something bad lurking in the dark… but then it’s just me who goes around looking for it and pulls it out! I hate myself and love myself for being the way I am!
Needed to keep my head occupied all day today… so some good work that has been getting postponed for too long, happened successfully… there is more work to get done for the week to keep that small thing occupied… how long, I don’t know!

Wide awake

Middle of the night… early in the morning?

Movie… music?

Want to be left alone… missing the unavailable?

Dinner… drinks?

Happy… so near yet so far?

Go back to sleep!~
