An actual incident involving three people… two male friends, let me call them M1 and M2… one female friend, let me call her F1. Now M1 is interested in F1 which the whole friends circle knows about, except F1! Everyone urges M1 to take a step ahead but M1 doesn’t oblige (only he knows the reason)…
In this scenario, M2 decides to send a mail to the group addressed to F1, subtly yet effectively conveying M1’s interest in F1!!!
Everyone in the group is shocked seeing this explicit mail!!
M1’s heart skips many a beat before he decides to reply saying he won’t accept any more jokes like this… he is just trying to stay cool and shows a good man’s face ;-) and within a minute he gets an undeliverable mail receipt from F1’s id!!!
After a second, he realizes the prank played by M2 to change F1’s id in the ‘To list’ before sending the initial mail!!! Some one should have captured M1’s emotions for these minutes in a video… I would always remember him for this :-) Hope he takes a step ahead at least after this!!
You should've listened to M1's voice when I called him up immediately after his reply. That was when he received the "undeliverable" message. It hadn't sunk in that it was a fake mail id. :)). Too good.
But didnt M3 send a follow up mail to substatiate M2's mail...did that also get delivered. because M3 did not get a undelivered message !!!
I don't think M3 was in the loop in this mail thread :-)

ya m3, you're talking about a different mail. that also happened nearly at the same time. but that was not so explicit. m2 did not CC a lot of people because he feared that as people start replying all to that mail, there is a possibility that somebody puts f1's correct mail id and gets everyone into trouble.
Poor F1...She moves around with M1, M2 and us but she doesn't know anything...I am seriously wondering if F1 knows M1's interest and not showing any reactions...or she simply isn't aware of this??? Anyway, F1's position is pitiable...Are we making too much of prank at the expense of F1...?
But this prank was a 'classic' :). Good job M2...But wait for your day dude, M1 is devicing some conspiracies...

Rags, I am a bit late to catch up here...I guess i know who M1 and F1 are - someone confirm my doubts the next time you meet me!
I also hav tried tht once before, "Tampering the TO address" ;)
The guy thought tht i had really sent the mail to her, and it was really interesting to watch his response :)
Nice to remember the trick once more now :)
