Weather @ Hyderabad

Saturday, March 11, 2006

Did someone say the weather is discussed when there is nothing else to talk about? But then exceptions have to be made to appreciate something of the city I have lived in for the past one year… Many of my batch mates have been surprised by how the weather has turned out to be during our stay… May be a city as hot as Chennai was not expected, but some thing similar minus the humidity was anticipated. To the surprise of many of us, it has been contrary… It hasn’t been hot for more than a week at a stretch and even in those times the drizzles always manage to cool it off!

There was a time when it poured continuously for a couple of days… it was sickening… but then most of the time its like how it has been for the past few days… chill breeze, lovely wind with a slight drizzle during the day and rains during the night!

This has definitely added along with other incentives – cheaper cost of living and better roads – for many to stay back in Hyderabad for work!

Cheaper cost of living(col) and hyd... sounds like an oxymoron to me. i hope hyd is no lesser to b'lore in col. Infact i find am spending more here for my essentials than in b'lore. Chennai i wud say is really cheaper but earnings also seems low :(

Yes, weather has played a great part here but as the chilling gets chiller, things go tough, especially for chennaites or ppl from tamilnadu who faced climates like hot hotter and hottest.

I have lived in Hyderabad and Bangalore and one of my friends used to stay in the heart of the city here... we definitely felt Hyd COL is much better than B'lore.

I stayed in chennai for 17 years and still one thing I hate about that place is the weather! So Chennaites should just love it when things are cold out here.

Interesting... Just compare ITPL, electronic city with madhapur. a good 2 bedroom flat at madhapur costs me 8k and few of my colleagues have settled here paying more. My friend was in a nice room in the beautiful indra nagar defence colony locality for 5k. Probably a flat there would cost may be at the max 10k. I feel hyd is getting greedier but anyway as the earnings are good... never mind. hyd is good for the rest except that travel to chennai have become a costlier affair which used to happen almost every weekend when in b'lore.

Well apart from that, the infrastructure here is good. Cant imagine the frustrations caused in traffic jams in b'lore. Lofe is certainly good here.

As said, the only thing that i hate about chennai is its climate. That too more after settling in places like b'lore and hyd. Thats ppls concern next to water scarcity which somehow got settled in recent rains. But COL is cool there and hope the earning factor raises there. Its been a long time out, wanna get back there.
